MFE and ALD
Made For Excellence (MFE) is a two-day personal
development seminar designed primarily for high school freshman and
sophomores. The conference curriculum focuses on the personal growth of
each individual. Students will learn about using conflict resolution
techniques appropriately, setting goals and building self-esteem. Students
will also discover the variety of high school activities in which they can
participate. During this conference, students will set their plan of
action in place to reach their full high school potential. Other MFE
objectives include:

To meet new friends and make connections for the future.

To identify goals that will help students succeed in life.

To develop an appreciation of a changing world.
-
For students to learn more about themselves and gain
confidence in their abilities.

To become aware of new opportunities available to them.
-
To determine their capacity for risk.
-
For students to practice effective team and leadership
skills.

For students to gain appreciation for diversity.
The Advanced Leadership Development (ALD) conference
represents the third component of the National FFA's Leadership Series.
The conference builds upon the curriculum of both EDGE (Experiencing Discovery,
Growth and Excellence) and MFE. It creates a new experience specifically
for high school juniors and seniors. the conference allows students to
better understand the wide variety of careers available in the field of
agriculture. During the program, students will learn how to prepare for
their future careers either through hands-on experience or advanced
education. Students will also polish their leadership and communications
skills and learn how to utilize those skills through community service and
volunteerism efforts. Some other ALD objectives are:

To understand personal management.

To develop effective communication skills.

To develop team leadership skills.

To become aware of establishing career goals.
The Made for Excellence (MFE) and Advanced Leadership Development
(ALD) Conferences will be held:

Registration will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The
conference will begin at 7:00 p.m. Students should eat their meal before
they register for the conference.
Advisors Please Note
The Nebraska FFA will not make room
arrangements for this conference. Room blocks are reserved at each of the
conference hotels (Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn); however, room reservations much
be made directly with the hotel, not through the Nebraska FFA office. Your
chapter is not required to stay at the conference site.
MFE and ALD Conference registrations are due online February 9,
2007.
